We take a deep dive into the four games today and my picks to win and why!
Everton Vs Liverpool
The first big game of the weekend is the 1230 KO between the two Merseyside teams. Everton have been on a roll since the start of this season, the arrivals of James Rodriguez, Allen and Abdoulaye Doucoure have helped Everton reach the top spot for the first time since 1989. Dominic Calvert Lewin has 6 goals in 4 games so far this season so Everton will need him on top form to get a result here.
Liverpool are coming off a 7-2 defeat away to Aston Villa and are looking to bounce back at Goodison park, they will be without Allison and Naby Keita but are boosted by the return of both Thiago and Sadio Mane after recovering from COVID 19.
The last three Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park have ended in a 0-0 draw, I fully except this to end today but I am predicting a 2-2 with end to end action. The draw is currently priced at 16/5 on sky bet, £1 on this would result in a return of £4.20 so well worth a punt.
Chelsea Vs Southampton
Next game is the only 3pm KO at Stamford Bridge, both team won their games before the international break and are looking for this to continue. Chelsea with have new signing Hakim Ziyech for the first time but are without Keeper Edouard Mendy so Frank Lampard will have to make the tough choice between having Kepa or Willy Caballero between the sticks!
Southampton are currently sitting 11th in the table with 6 points and have the boost of new signing Theo Walcott in the squad. They are unbeaten in the last two meetings at Stamford Bridge, Danny Ings will be looking to add to his 3 goals so far this season against a Chelsea team that has only kept one clean sheet so far this season.
I see both team scoring in this game, but I see Chelsea taking all 3 points with the talent they have acquired during the transfer window they have the much better team and should easily get the result here. Chelsea to win is currently priced at 1/2 on Sky Bet.
Manchester City Vs Arsenal
The 5:30 KO is what I would class at the biggest game of the day. Pep Vs Arteta, Master Vs Apprentice. Manchester City are without key man Kevin De Bruyne who picked up an injury playing for Belgium this past week. Record goal scorer Sergio Aguero will be 50/50 to play after returning to training but Gabriel Jesus is still out. Manchester City are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and will looking for this to change today.
New Arsenal signing Thomas Partey is 50/50 to play after joining on Deadline day. Arsenal have started very well this season with 3 wins in 4 and are hoping for their first win at the Etihad since January 2015. Alexander Lacazette has scored 3 in 3 games so far and will be looking to add to his total against a shaky Manchester City defence.
I feel like this game will have goals, neither defence is reliable and there will be plenty of chances in this game. I have Manchester City winning, this is currently priced at 1/2 on Sky Bet.
Newcastle Vs Manchester United
The late game is the 8:00 KO between a new look Newcastle side against a disappointing Manchester United side. Newcastle made very good signings during the transfer window bring in Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Jamal Lewis who will all look to punish a wounded Manchester United team. Callum Wilson who has scored 4 goals in the first 4 games this season will look to dominate and score against a United team who have conceded 3.67 goals per game so far.
Manchester United will be without all new signings made during the transfer window, captain Harry Maguire is set to miss out after picking up an injury while on England duty this week. They will be looking to avenge the hammering they received at the hands of Spurs prior to the break.
I see Allan Saint Maximin and Callum Wilson running riot and adding more misery to Manchester United. The home win is currently priced at 15/4 on Sky Bet.
My Punt of the day is Manchester United to win a Penalty which is priced a 5/2 and is well worth a bet.
